Auroplasty / Ear Lobe Repair
Earlobe Repair (Auroplasty) - Restore the natural shape and confidence in your ears.
Sushrutha Acharya, the father of Surgery as He is rightly called, has devised surgical methods to repair a tear in the ear lobe. Earlobe repair, also known as auroplasty, is a simple, minor surgical procedure done at the OPD set-up that corrects torn or stretched earlobes. This is often caused by injury, heavy earrings, gauging or natural wear over time.
What to Expect During the Procedure
- Setting: Performed at OPD level under local anesthesia
- Duration: Around 30 – 40 minutes per earlobe
- Technique:
- Damaged or stretched tissue is carefully removed
- The earlobe is reshaped and sutured with fine stitches
- Minimal discomfort and no need for hospital stay
Recovery & Aftercare
- Back to daily activities: Usually the same day
- Stitches removal: Typically in 7 - 8 days
- Full healing: Around 6 - 8 weeks
- Re-piercing: Can be done after 4 to 5 months, avoiding the original scar
