Uttara Basti

Uttara Basti comes from Sanskrit, where “Uttara” means higher or upper and “Basti” means retention or enema therapy.

It is a specialized Ayurvedic procedure in which medicated oils/ghee or herbal decoctions are gently instilled into the urinary bladder or the uterus through the urethral or vaginal route. This therapy helps manage gynecological issues such as irregular menstruation, tubal blockage, infertility, endometriosis, recurrent urinary infections, and certain uterine disorders.
